Dilip Memorial Foundation declared team champions

Kathmandu – Dilip Memorial Foundation has been declared the team champions of the First Valleywide Taekwondo Championship on Sunday.

The foundation bagged 6 golds and 3 silver medals to finish first in the championship organized by the Central Taekwondo Department of Madan Bhandari Sports Foundation.

Likewise, Koteshwar Taekwondo Dojang finished second with 3 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

Mulpani Taekwondo secured the third position with 2 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes. The top three teams bagged a purse of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Sagar Ghimire of Koteshwar Taekwondo Dojang and Bhavani Budhathoki of Dilip Memorial Foundation were adjudged the best players in male and female categories respectively. Both of them were awarded with cash prize of Rs 5,000 each.

Former Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Chairman of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Dhruba Acharya and General Secretary Purendra Bikram Lakhe gave away the prizes to the winners.

The event was organized at the National Sports Council on the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary of Madan Bhandari. A total of 230 players had participated in the event.
