Pokhara – Departmental side Tribhuvan Amry Club’s runner Deepak Adhikari bags gold in Men’s 10,000-meter race belonging to the 9th National Games.
Deepak recorded a new national record breaking the previous record kept by APF runner Gopi Chandra Parki in the competition held on Sunday at Pokhara Stadium.
He completed the prescribed distance in 30 minutes and 10.30 seconds. Gopi had previously set a record in 2014 at Inchon Asiad in China by crossing the distance in 30 minutes 30.99 seconds.
Gopichandra of APF managed to win the silver by covering the distance in 30 minutes 38.32 seconds. Army’s Rajendra Rai won bronze by covering the distance in 30 minutes 49.50 seconds.
