Church Boys maintains winning streak

Kathmandu – Church Boys United Football Club maintained their winning streak by defeating Himalayan Sherpa Club 1-0 at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.

Ashish Chaudhary scored the sole goal of the match in the 20th minute. Aasish made a brilliant run from the left flank, received a quick pass from Arik Bista, left two defenders behind, and beat the goalkeeper to give Church Boys a lead.

Although Church Boys looked strong in attack, they were unable to double their lead in the 23rd minute as Milan Rai’s attempt was saved by Biswas Chaudhary.

Himalayan Sherpa had an opportunity to come back in the match but Church Boys’ goalkeeper Yves Priso stopped Satyam Sharma’s freekick in the 37th minute. Aasish missed a chance to double his team’s lead in a one-on-one situation in the 65th minute, while Priso denied Himalayan Sherpa’s attempt to score in the 76th minute by blocking Satyam’s shot.

Later, Ashish Chaudhary was named Man of the Match. With this victory, Church Boys United Football Club has nine points from three matches, while Himalayan Sherpa has four.
