Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Chakra Tamang has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepali U-16 Women’s National Team. Tribhuwan Army Club coach Tamang’s appointment was made official by the All Nepal Football Federation (ANFA) on Sunday afternoon.
Tamang will be leading the team in the upcoming SAFF U-16 Women’s Championship, scheduled to take place in Nepal from March 1 to 10 at the Chyasal Stadium in Lalitpur. Tamang currently holds the position of head coach for the women’s team at Tribhuwan Army Club and has also contributed as an assistant coach for the Army men’s team. He has also served as the head coach of the U-18 National Women’s Team previously.
Bhagwati Thapa and Pasang Lama have been appointed as assistant coaches, while Gangaram Deuja will take on the role of the goalkeeping coach for the team.
The competition will feature Bhutan, Bangladesh, and India alongside Nepal. Nepal will start proceedings against Bangladesh on March 2, Bhutan on March 4, and India on March 7.
The tournament will be held in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final scheduled for March 10.
