Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed Kritika Marasini as the captain of the U-19 national women’s cricket team of Nepal. Seventeen-year-old Marasini plays domestic cricket representing Lumbini Province.
She was adjudged the best bowler during the B and R Cup held in China in 2019. Her performance has been exemplary in domestic cricket.
CAN informed that Marasini has been appointed as the captain of Nepal’s u-19 women’s cricket team for the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup Asia Qualifiers to be held in Malaysia.
Nepal, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, China, Bhutan, Myanmar and Qatar will participate in the qualifiers which will start on June 4. The top team will qualify for the U-19 T20 Women’s World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2023. It is the first time that the ICC will be organizing the U-19 Women’s World Cup.
Nepal has already announced an 18-member squad for the qualifiers.
