Bikesh Kuthu Announced As Ilam’s Marquee For NSL Second Edition

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Bikesh Kuthu, the goalkeeper of the Nepali national team and the champion of the first season of the Nepal Super League, has been contracted as the marquee of the second edition with Sporting Ilam de Mechi. Ilam, one of the three new teams, announced Kuthu as the marquee on their social media.

A regular member of Tribhuvan Army FC, he kept seven clean sheets in the last season of Martyr’s Memorial A Division League. Bikesh made his debut for the national team in 2012 against Cameroon. He has played nine matches for the Nepali national team and has kept clean sheets in two matches.

In the first edition of NSL, Bikesh was the marquee of Kathmandu Rayzrs and led the team to the title under his captaincy.

The second edition of the Nepal Super League is set to kick off on November 24 in Kathmandu. This season features a total of nine teams, including six from the previous edition and three new additions, with Biratnagar opting not to participate.

Ashish Chaudhary, Arik Bista, Bishal Shrestha, Anjan Bista, Deep Karki and Ananta Tamang have already been unveiled as marquee players for Dhangadhi, Butwal, Chitwan, Jhapa, Birgunj and Lalitpur respectively. The NSL auction is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on Saturday.
