Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Hisub Thapaliya, a talented forward of the Nepal National Football Team, has become the marquee player for the reigning champions of the Nepal Super League (NSL), Kathmandu Razyrs.
Under the ownership of Morang Auto Works Enterprises, Kathmandu announced Hisub’s signing. In the previous A Division League season, Hisub played playing for Jawalakhel Youth Club, contributing four goals and four assists in 25 games. Following his stellar league performance, he marked his national team debut against Myanmar last month, adding another feather to his cap.
Notably, Kathmandu had previously appointed goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu as their marquee player in the inaugural edition, and now, Hisub Thapaliya assumes this coveted role. The team triumphed in the NSL’s first edition, where they emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Dhangadhi FC. The first season was hosted amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced matches to be played without spectators.
Ashish Chaudhary, Arik Bista, Bishal Shrestha, Anjan Bista, Deep Karki and Ananta Tamang have already been unveiled as marquee players for Dhangadhi, Butwal, Chitwan, Jhapa, Birgunj and Lalitpur respectively. The NSL auction is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on Saturday.
