Kathmandu – Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) on Monday appointed Jagadish Prasad Bhatt as the Head Coach of the Nepal U23 Men’s Volleyball team.

Bhatt, a renowned name in domestic volleyball will lead the U23 Volleyball squad to the maiden CAVA U23 Men’s Volleyball Championship to be held from 20 to 27 December in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bharat Yadav will assist Bhatt and National Sports Council (NSC) volleyball coach Prajjwal Bahadur Singh will be a part of the team.
Nepal National Women Volleyball team had clinched the title of Central Zone Championship under Bhatt. Moreover, under his leadership, the Nepali Women’s Volleyball squad bagged the silver in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Nepal in 2019.
Bhatt was in charge when Nepal Men’s Volleyball team bagged a bronze medal in Central Zone Championship in 2017. Bhatt began his job on the same day of his appointment.
The open trial to form the U23 team has begun at NSC Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. A total of 84 players from around the country showed up for the trial which will run till Wednesday.
