By a Staff Reporter

Kathmandu – The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has released the fixtures for the highly-anticipated Asia Cup, scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 17. The tournament will begin with a thrilling clash between Nepal and Pakistan in the inaugural match.

Initially set to be hosted by Pakistan, the tournament’s plans underwent changes due to India’s refusal to play in Pakistan amid political tensions. As a result, the ACC devised a new hybrid model and selected Sri Lanka as the neutral venue alongside Pakistan for the matches.

Nepal finds itself in Group ‘A’ alongside cricketing giants India and Pakistan, promising an exciting contest among these top-tier teams. In Group ‘B’, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka will compete against each other to secure a spot in the Super 4 stage.

The action-packed event will begin on August 30, with Nepal facing Pakistan at Multan, Pakistan. Subsequently, Nepal will travel to Sri Lanka to take on India on September 4. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 stage.

One of the Super 4 matches will be held in Pakistan, while the remaining matches are scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka. The top two teams from the Super 4 stage will then proceed to compete for the prestigious Asia Cup title on September 17.
