Army Defend A Low Total To Confirm PM Cup Final Against Police

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Tribhuwan Army Club have defended a low total against Gandaki Province to confirm their place in the final of PM Cup 2080. Army, defending a mere 132 runs in 50 overs, packed up Gandaki Province early to confirm their place in the final against Nepal Police Club.

Chasing 133 runs, Gandaki were bundled over for 64 runs in just 23.4 overs and ended their campaign with a loss. Only two of their batters reached two digits in terms of runs- opener Ishwar Chhetri with 15 runs and Karan Pangeni with his 15. 

Shahab Alam took four wickets in his seven-over spell for Police while Kushal Malla and Jitendra Mukhiya picked up two each. 

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Army posted a total of 132 runs, losing all their wickets in 39.1 overs. Imrah Sheikh top-scored with 34 runs off 64 deliveries while Sompal Kami scored 23 off 39. Skipper Binod Bhandari made a steady 19 off 46. 

Bipin Khatri, Amrit Gurung, Krishna Poudel and Kamal Pariyar picked up two wickets each for Gandaki. 

Gandaki ended their campaign on four points in nine matches. Army, meanwhile, finish second on 14 points with seven wins out of nine. Nepal Police Club finished at the top of the table with nine wins out of nine.
