Kathmandu – Defending Champions Nepal APF Club and Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Club advanced to the final of the 6th KNP Nerolac National Women’s Volleyball Championship registering back-to-back victories.
APF beat Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in a straight set of 3-0 to move a step closer to defending the title. TAC with another mediocre display lost the match by 25-17, 25-21, and 25-16.
In the day’s second match, New Diamond outplayed NPC in a set of 3-1 to fix the final date with APF. NPC, who began the match with a 22-25 win, fizzled out further. New Diamond then secured 25-15, 25-22, and 25-19 victories in the second, third, and fourth sets respectively.
Bagging six points each, New Diamond and APF have fixed their meeting in the final of the championship. New Diamond defeated TAC, and APF trounced NPC earlier in the first match of the tourney.
Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC), Nepal Armed Police Force Club (APF), Nepal Police Club (NPC), and Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Club are competing in the round-robin-styled championship organized by Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation.
The winners of the championship will be rewarded with NRs. 3 Lakhs while the runners-up will purse NRs. 1.5 Lakhs. The team finishing third will receive NRs. 75 thousand and the Most Valuable Player of the tournament will be felicitated with NRs. 50 thousand.
