Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bid farewell to the Nepal National Women’s Football Team traveling to Bangladesh to participate in two friendly matches against the Bangladeshi team.
Custodian Anjila Tumbapo Subba will lead the team, with Ananta Thapa taking charge as the team’s Head Coach. The last encounter between Nepal and Bangladesh took place almost a year ago in the SAFF Championship final held in Kathmandu, where Bangladesh emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline.
The upcoming matches, scheduled on July 13 and 16, are being played on FIFA-designated dates. The team will depart for Bangladesh on Tuesday.
ANFA’s President, Pankaj Bikram Nemwang, General Secretary Kiran Rai, and other officials bid farewell to the traveling squad. Upon their return, the team will resume training for the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD). Bal Gopal Maharjan, one of the most successful coaches in Nepali football history, will assume the responsibility of coaching the Women’s team for ASIAD as Maharjan is a coach associated with the Nepal Sports Council (NSC).
