United wins City in the Manchester Derby

Texas (Agency) – Manchester United defeated their bitter-rivals Manchester City 2-0 in the International Champions Cup match held in Texas, USA. The Red Devils scored both their goals in the first half of the game.

Manchester United’s newest arrival Romelu Lukaku opened the account for them in the 37th minute. The Belgian dribbled past Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson to net his second goal in a Manchester United shirt. In the 39th minute, Marcus Rashford immediately doubled the lead for the Reds utilising a perfectly weighted pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Both teams had started their first choice players.

The derby, which was the first one to have been played outside Britain, saw a significant turn out of supporters from both sides. Manchester City’s new signing Kyle Walker also had debuted in the game. Manchester United will play their next friendly against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
