Kathmandu – Unilever Nepal and the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) have announced a sponsorship agreement for the Nepal National Women’s Football Team. The agreement was formalized during a program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
As per the agreement, Unilever will provide a sponsorship amount of NRs. 2.5 Million to the National Women’s team for one year. ANFA President, Pankaj Bikram Nemwang, and Unilever Nepal Managing Director, Amlan Mukharji, penned the agreement.
Expressing her gratitude, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, the goalkeeper, and captain of the National team, thanked Unilever for their generous support towards the women’s team. ANFA President Nemwang also extended his appreciation to Unilever for their sponsorship, highlighting that this agreement marks a significant milestone in the development of Nepali women’s football.
Unilever’s Managing Director, Amlan Mukherji, emphasized that the purpose of this agreement is to collaborate on football development. He expressed his optimism that women’s football will help fulfill Nepal’s aspirations of participating in the World Cup.
Youth and Sports Minister, Dig Bahadur Limbu, conveyed his gratitude to Unilever for their support and urged the private sector to continue offering their assistance since the nation’s resources alone cannot fully meet the requirements. Minister Limbu also extended his best wishes to the Nepali women’s national team for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Australia and New Zealand. He was unknown of the fact that Nepal has not progressed beyond the first stage of the World Cup Qualifiers.
