Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has postponed two third-round matches of the ongoing Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial League by two days.
The first match between Himalayan Sherpa Club and Nepal Police Club fixed for Monday has been rescheduled for Wednesday. Similarly, the second match between Jawlakhel Youth Club and Machhindra Youth Club has also been rescheduled for coming Wednesday (December 8).
ANFA postponed the two matches due to the fixture of Youth Athletics Championship to be held at the Dasharath Stadium on Sunday and Monday. ANFA informed that the other matches of the third round will be held as per the schedule.
By the end of the second round of league matches, eight times league champions Manang Marshyangdi Club are leading the table with six points. MMC are the only team to secure victories in the first two matches. Sankata is second with four points followed by Brigade Boys Club (third), Machhindra Club (fourth), Nepal Police Club (fifth) and Satdobato Youth Club (sixth). All five clubs have equal four points. The top six teams as well as ninth-placed Tribhuvan Army Club with two points are unbeaten in the league.
Five out of the remaining seven clubs have lost one match each while Jawlakhel Youth Club and APF Club are yet to register victory. Three Star Club is seventh with three points and Chyasal Youth Club is eighth in the standings while Himalayan Sherpa Club is tenth with 1 point, Friends’ Club is 11th while New Road Team (NRT) is 12th in the league. Pointless JYC is 13th while APF lies at the bottom of the table on 14th position.
