Sudur Paschim secure place in PM Cup semis

Kathmandu – Sudur Paschim Province have reached the semifinals of the PM Cup Women’s National T20 Tournament on Thursday from Group B after defeating Province 2 by 87 runs. They have secured a place in the semifinals ahead of APF’s match against Gandaki Province. Whatever will be the result of the match, Sudur Paschim will finish among the top two teams to qualify for the semifinals.

During Thursday’s match, Sudur Paschin, who were invited to bat first after losing the toss, posted a total of 143 runs in allotted 20 overs losing 5 wickets. Bindu Rawal was unbeaten on 50 runs off 45 balls that included four boundaries.Likewise, Ruby Poddar scored 21 runs, Kabita Joshi (13), Shova Rokaya (13), Sangeeta Mouni (13) an Dolly Bhat (15). Bimala Magar of Province 2 took two wickets.

Chasing a target of 144 runs, Province 2 managed to score 56 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Sana Prabin contributed 14 runs for Province 2 while Bimala Magar scored 12 runs. No other batswoman was able to score in double digits. Sudur Paschim’s spinner Laxmi Saud and Kabita Joshi took two wickets each.

Province 1 and Lumbini have already secured their places in the semifinals as the winners and runners-up of Group A respectively. The semifinals will be held on December 25 and the final on December 26. The winners will bag a purse of Rs 500,000 while the second position holder will walk away with Rs 300,000.
