Shrestha part his ways with Manang

By a Staff Reporter

Kathmandu – Kiran Shrestha has resigned as Head Coach of Manang Marshyangdi Club, the club confirmed on Monday.

Shrestha, who served as the Assistant Coach for the Nepal National Team for a significant period of time, cited personal reasons for his departure from the record eight-time top-tier league champions.

The resignation of Shrestha came after the team’s sixth consecutive loss in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League.

Manang had a promising start to the league, remaining undefeated until their seventh match, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the title. However, their defeat against Satdobato Youth Club in the eighth match marked the beginning of their downfall. The team went on to lose all their remaining matches until the conclusion of the first leg on Sunday.

Under Shrestha, Manang had won 4 matches, drew 3 and lost 6 in the ongoing league.

The decision of Shrestha to step down as Head Coach has come as a blow to Manang Marshyangdi Club, as he played a crucial role in the team’s performance. The club has yet to announce a replacement for the outgoing coach.
