HamroKhelkud.com is honoring the seven supreme athletes of all time on the occasion of its seventh anniversary. The players who have contributed significantly to Nepali sports during their time will be honored amidst an event to be held in Lalitpur the following week.
Raju Kaji Shakya, the former captain and coach of the Nepal National Football Team is one among supreme seven athletes to be felicitated in HamroKhelkud’s anniversary. The first international medal winner for Nepal Jit Bahadur Kc and the South Asian Games (SAG) record holder runner Baikuntha Manandhar are amongst to be honoured.
In football, very few people have won the Gold Medal in SAG as both captain and coach. Shakya is one among them. Shakya was a prime member of the team when Nepal won gold medals in first edition and sixth edition of SAG in 1984 and 1993 respectively. He was the captain of the team when Nepali Football won gold in the sixth edition of SAG.
As a coach, Shakya won a gold medal in the 12th edition of SAG held in India in 2016. He is currently working as a coach of the A Division side, New Road Team – NRT.
Seven players including Shakya will be honored on the anniversary of HamroKhelkud on 4th August, 2022 (19th Shrawan, 2079). HamroKhelkud will announce the names of the players who will be honored one per day. HamroKhelkud came into operation from Sharawan 19, 2072. Moreover, this is the first time that HamroKhelkud is celebrating its anniversary publicly. HamroKhelkud has been publishing news, articles, photos, videos and other materials related to national and international sports since its inception.
Similarly, HamroKhelkud has been live telecasting various national and international competitions through its Facebook page and Youtube channel with an aim of bringing domestic competitions to the Nepali audience. In 2019, HamroKhelkud broadcasted live of the AVC Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Championship held in Nepal which was the first International Competition they broadcasted live.
As a news portal that is directly related to Nepali sports, HamroKhelkud is going to honor seven athletes of all time who have contributed to take Nepali sports to a certain height on the occasion of its seventh anniversary. National and international players, coaches, sports officials, sports journalists and others will participate in the program at Ashok Party Palace in Patan. The event will be broadcast live on its Facebook page and YouTube channel.
