Kathmandu – Satdobato Youth Club successfully avenged their previous defeat by beating Three Star Club 2-0 in the second leg of the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League. The team displayed great resilience, bouncing back after their 1-0 loss to Three Star in the first leg.
The match, held at Dasarath Stadium on Sunday, witnessed an outstanding performance by Satdobato, turning the tide in their favor. William Opoku Asiedu emerged as the hero of the game, scoring a goal in each half and securing Satdobato’s eighth win in the league.
The breakthrough for Satdobato came in the 25th minute when William capitalized on Three Star’s defensive vulnerabilities. Taking advantage of the opposing team’s poor defensive line, he skillfully tapped in the ball after Three Star’s goalkeeper, Purna Chemjong, failed to collect a low cross from the right flank.
William further extended Satdobato’s lead in the 47th minute, leaving Three Star’s custodian Purna Chemjong helpless with a superb freekick taken from near the box. Satdobato earned the freekick after Peter Segun brought down his former teammate, Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri, while attempting to intercept an aerial ball.
With this victory, Satdobato climbed to the 5th position in the league standings, accumulating 29 points from 19 matches. On the other hand, Three Star’s defeat dropped them to 5th place as well, with 26 points from an equal number of matches.
