Kathmandu – Nepal’s national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane and opener Kushal Bhurtel have leapfrogged in the ICC T20I rankings.

Kushal Bhurtel jumped from 65th position to 39th. Dipendra Singh Airee climbed to 50th spot from 52nd. Both the players made significant improvement in batting ranking.
Meanwhile, captain Lamichhane improved his bowling ranking from 63rd position to 43rd. Lamichhane has moved ahead of renowned players such as South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s fast bowler Pat Cummins. Cumins is ranked 47th while Rabada is 48th.

Nepal’s fast bowler Avinash Bohara also climbed 12 spots in the rankings to the 86th position.
Four bowlers of Nepal made significant improvement in their ICC rankings thanks to the exemplary performance of Dipendra Singh Airee during the recently held four-nations T20I series and the ICC T20I Global Qualifiers.
Nepal missed a chance to qualify for the upcoming T20 World Cup by a whisker after losing the semifinal match of the qualifiers to the UAE by 68 runs.
Nepal, on the other hand, slipped two spots behind in the T20I rankings to the 15 position while they remain stable in 16th position in ODI ranking.
