Real Madrid defeated neighbours Atletico Madrid 2-0 in La Liga on Sunday to move eight points clear of Sevilla at the top of Spanish league table. It was their tenth victory in a row.

La Liga’s top scorer Karim Benzema powered in a superb volley from Vinicius Jr’s cross to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side the lead. According to the BBC, Vinicius picked out Marco Asensio to slot home their second.
Defending champions Atletico, who are 13 points behind Real, had chances but the clinical hosts deserved the win.
Real have only lost twice in 23 games – and none since October 3 – since Carlo Ancelotti replaced Zinedine Zidane as the club’s manager in summer.
Diego Simeone’s Atletico are fourth in the table and look miles away from the team that won La Liga title last season.
Elsewhere, Barcelona’s patchy run of form continued as they conceded a late equaliser at Osasuna to settle for a 2-2 draw.
The result mean’s Xavi’s side stay eighth in the table, 18 points behind leaders Real Madrid.
