Real Madrid victorious

Agency – UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid clinched the title of UEFA Super Cup. Real secured a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt to kick off their season bagging a title.

David Alaba and Karim Benzema scored apiece in Real’s victory. Real took a lead through Alaba in the 37th minute. Alaba tapped into an empty net following Casemiro’s header.  

In the 65th minute, Benzema smashed the ball following Vinicius Jr’s cross to double Real’s lead. Previously, Vinicius’s two attempts were blocked by Frankfurt’s Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and Defender Tuta.  

With this win, Real Madrid has leveled the Super Cup title count with Barcelona and AC Milan. Three teams have won the Super Cup title 5 times each. While Barcelona has been runner-up 4 times, Real has been runner-up 3 times and Milan has been runner-up 2 times. Liverpool has won the title 4 times.
