RB Leipzig vs Manchester United: Preview and Team News

Manchester United will be looking to book their place when they face RB Leipzig on Tuesday night in Germany.

All Manchester United, PSG, and Leipzig are on 9 points in Group H. And with both Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain, these three teams will look to make it to the top 2.

Before losing to French giants PSG, Leipzig impressively reached the semi-finals of last season’s Champions League. But they are incredibly inexperienced at this level of football-actually playing in only their third group-stage campaign.

Leipzig played an exciting 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday. They will look to stop Manchester United and advance for the knockout round stages. Although a draw would also be enough if PSG lost to Basaksehir in the other match in the group.

After matchday two, United were in an outstanding place in the group. With back-to-back wins over PSG and Leipzig seeing them firmly took control of the group. However, a damaging 2-1 defeat followed in Istanbul, and now Solskjaer’s squad is sweating on the spot in the Round of 16.

United have a huge game at home to Manchester City in the Premier League next weekend. But simply cannot afford to look past Tuesday’s clash as well.

Leipzig will again be without the services of Lukas Klostermann, Fabrice Hartmann, Konrad Laimer, Benjamin Henrichs, and Hwang Hee-chan. And the team luckily did not pick up any fresh concerns against Bayern.

As for Manchester United, David de Gea missed out with a slight knee issue against West Ham but should be back in the side for this match. Both Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are huge doubts as well. As Fred is suspended, he is out of contention as well.

Possible Starting Lineups :

RB Leipzig : Gulacsi; Mukiele, Konate, Upamecano, Angelino; Sabitzer, Kampl; Haidara, Forsberg, Olmo; Poulsen

Manchester United: De Gea; Lindelof, Maguire, Tuanzebe; Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Pogba, Telles; Fernandes; Greenwood, Rashford
