Rain aborts all three matches of the league

Kathmandu – All three matches of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023 scheduled to take place on Saturday had to be aborted due to heavy rainfall in the capital city.

The match between Tribhuvan Army Football Club and Himalayan Sherpa Club at Dasarath Stadium, as well as the match between league leaders Jawalakhel Youth Club and Sankata Club at Chyasal Stadium, had to be halted midway.

The match between Army and Himalayan Sherpa was played till the 72nd minute. The scoreline was even between the two sides till then. Nawayug Shrestha had given Army an early lead, netting just after 36 seconds of the kick-off, but Skipper Biswash Shrestha converted a freekick from around 35 yards away to bring Himalayan Sherpa back in the game. The match will now continue on Sunday at Dasarath Stadium at 4:30 PM.

Similarly, Jawalakhel was leading over Sankata by 1-0 until the 50th minute at Chyasal Stadium. Fode Fofana scored for Jawalkhel in the 33rd minute. The remaining minutes of the match will be played in ANFA Complex at 1 PM on Sunday.

In addition, the match between Church Boys United and Manang Marshyangdi Club could not even get kicked off due to continuous heavy rainfall. The match has been rescheduled for Sunday in ANFA Complex at 3:30 PM.
