Police vs Chyasal match rescheduled for upcoming Saturday

Kathmandu – The Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial A Division League match between Nepal Police Club and Chyasal Youth Club has been rescheduled for upcoming Saturday. The match was postponed due to the risk of coronavirus. Once the match is held, the ninth round of matches of the ongoing league will be completed.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) informed that the match will be held on Saturday (February 5) at 1 pm at the Dasharath Stadium. The match was initially scheduled for January 16. However, the match was postponed after 19 players of Chyasal Youth Club tested positive for Covid-19.

Both Police and Chyasal have not been able to perform well during this season. Police are languishing in the 11th position with 7 points from 8 matches. Police have won 1 match, played 4 draws and lost three matches.

Similarly, Chyasal have 5 points from 8 matches and are second from bottom. They have registered 1 win, 2 draws and 5 defeats and are under threat of relegation.

Defending champions Machhindra FC are leading the points table with 23 points from 9 matches. Manang Marshyangdi Club are hot on the heels of Machhindra with 19 points followed by Army with 17 points. Three Star Club are fourth with 16 points. Sankata, NRT, Satdobato, Himalayan Sherpa, APF and Jawlakhel are placed from fifth to 10 spots respectively.

BBC are placed 12th while winless Friends Club are on rock bottom of the  14-team league.

ANFA informed that the 10th round of matches will begin from the second week of February.
