PM Deuba congratulates women’s volleyball team

Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has congratulated the Nepali national women’s volleyball team for winning the title of AVC Central Zone Volleyball Championship.   

Prime Minister Deuba took to Twitter to congratulate the women’s volleyball team for winning back-to-back titles. The prime minister also praised the Nepali women’s volleyball team for their outstanding performance and wished for continued success in coming days.    

Nepali women volleyball team won the title by defeating Uzbekistan in 3-2 sets in the final match held in Bangladesh on Tuesday.    

A total of six teams including hosts Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and the Maldives had competed in the women’s section of the championship held at  Dhaka-based Shahid Surwardi Indoor Stadium from December 23 to 28.

Prior to this championship, the Nepali women’s volleyball team had also won the first edition held in Bangladesh in 2019.
