Kathmandu – Nepal’s A Division club New Road Team (NRT) continued its spell of losses in friendly matches during its pre-season tour to South East Asian countries with its latest defeat in Thailand.
On Sunday, NRT suffered a big margin loss to Thailand’s top-flight club Chonburi FC. The visitors were beaten 9-0 by the Thai club. NRT were in pressure right from the beginning and ended up with the humiliating defeat.
This is the fourth straight defeat of NRT during its tour to Malaysia and Thailand.
Prior to this, NRT was beaten by Thailand’s third-tier club Kasem Bundit University FC 5-2.
NRT had also lost both its matches under the TYT Cup in Malaysia. NRT was defeated by Malaysia’s League 2 club Karo FC 5-1 followed by a 5-0 hammering by Penang FC.
NRT has conceded 24 games in four matches in Malaysia and Thailand while it has been able to score three. NRT will return home after playing its last match in Thailand against Thonburi FC on July 13.
