Kathmandu – New Road Team – NRT’s forward Jenish Prajapati scored his maiden goal in the top-tier league, helping his team secure their first win of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023 at the ANFA Complex on Sunday.
Raju Kaji Shakya’s side came from a goal behind to defeat Himalayan Sherpa 2-1. Khamir Gilsan Kandangwa scored the opener for the mountainers in the 14th minute.
NRT struggled to convert their chances earlier in the match but eventually equalized through Rohan Khadgi in the 66th minute.
Jenish Prajapati then sealed the victory with a goal in the 90th minute. This win was a relief for NRT, who were previously struggling in the relegation zone. With 6 points from 7 matches, they climbed to 11th place in the points table, while Himalayan Sherpa Club dropped to 12th.
