NRT, Army ends in a stirring tie

Kathmandu – Departmental side Tribhuvan Army Football Club and New Road Team (NRT) shared a point in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League playing a stirring tie.

The match resulted in a tie with both teams scoring three goals at Chyasal Stadium. Army took an early advantage in the 15th minute with Nawayug Shrestha converting a spot kick.

New Road Team, who were trailing behind at halftime, scored three goals in the second half. Lalnuzama netted twice, while Jean Anicet Maboumi scored apiece giving NRT a comfortable 3-1 lead at a moment.

Lalnuzama utilized poor goalkeeping by Bikesh Kuthu to bring NRT back into the match in the 52nd minute. Jean Anicet Maboumi doubled NRT’s lead in the 57th minute through the spot kick. NRT was awarded a penalty after Bikash Khawas committed a foul on Kritish Ratna Chhunju inside the box.

NRT took a comfortable lead of 3-1 in the 62nd minute with Lalnuzama netting his second goal. However, Sudil Rai’s who replaced Sushant Chaudhary in the 67th minute found the back of the net in the 67th minute to keep Army’s hope alive. Furthermore, Dinesh Hemjan’s goal in the 86th minute completed Army’s successful comeback.

With this tie, the undefeated Army has earned 5 points from 3 matches, while NRT has collected their first point from 3 matches.
