NPC and Lumbini register a comfortable victory

Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Lumbini Province registered a comfortable victory over Province 1 and Karnali Province in an ongoing Women’s Cricket Tournament belonging to the 9th National Games.

In the first match of the day NPC registered the second consecutive victory following the excellent performance of Samjhana Khadka and leg-spinner Hiranmayi Roy.

Police defeated Province 1 by a wide margin of 118 runs and reached the semi-finals. Chasing a winning target of 159 runs, Province 1 scored 40 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Samjhana Khadka of NPC stroked the first half-century of the tournament. She collected 60 runs off 43 balls with 10 fours completing a half-century in 39 balls.

In a second match of the day, young spinner Madhu D.C. shines as Lumbini Province won against Karnali Province by 104 runs. Along with this, Lumbini has strengthened the possibility to play in the semi-finals by remaining in the top two of Group B.
