Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal is facing home team UAE in their first game of the AFC U-23 Championship qualifying round. Forward Bimal Gharti Magar will wear the captain’s armband for Nepal in the match which will kickoff at 8.10 pm NST.
Coach Raju Kaji Shakya is likely to make one or two changes to the team that played against Bangladesh. Among the 10 national players in the team, all of them are likely to get a start. Kamal Shrestha, who was absent due to sickness in the friendly against Bangladesh, will be vying with Amit Tamang for the left-back position.
The midfield duo of Hemanta Thapa Magar and Heman Gurung lacked in defensive terms against Bangladesh. The team was seen somewhat stable with the arrival of Pujan Uparkoti. So, it seems possible for coach Shakya to make some changes in the area.
