Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – TS Thakuri, the founder and president of the Nepalgunj Marathon, recently participated in the Mass Participation World Conference held in Vietnam.
Thakuri informed that the invitation that was sent to the Nepalgunj Marathon for the three-day conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was the first-ever invitation for Nepal.
The conference featured figures that included the president of Mass Participation World, Chris Robb; World Athletics running Head Allesio Punzi; Cheif Operating Officer (COO) of the Chicago Marathon, Michael Nishi, the Head of Mass Participation of World Athletics; and representatives from marathon organizers worldwide. Panel discussions were also held in various sessions of the conference.
Thakuri expressed optimism about the conference playing a pivotal role in enhancing international relations. The ninth edition of the Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon concluded on the 9th of Mangsir, with Gopichandra Parki of Nepal APF clinching the title in the men’s category and Santoshi Shrestha securing victory in the women’s half marathon.
