Nepal to take on Sri Lanka today

Nepal National U20 team will compete against Sri Lanka U20 in its second round robin match of SAFF U20 Championship 2022 today. The match will kick off at 7:15 PM in Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Nepal started its SAFF U20 Championship campaign by defeating Maldives with a huge margin. Nepal scored four past Maldives. Dipesh Gurung, Sugam Suwal, Kritish Ratna Chhunju and Managya Nakarmi scored apiece. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka lost its first match against Bangladesh.  

Nepal will step in the field aiming for a second victory whereas Sri Lanka will be in search of its first victory.

Nepal is leading the competition points table with 3 points where Sri Lanka stands second to the bottom. Bangladesh is in the second position with 3 points and India, who is yet to play its first match, stands third. Likewise, Maldives is at the bottom of the table. 

The championship, which was previously held under the name of SAFF U19 and SAFF U18, is now being held under the name of SAFF U20 Championship. Nepal had won the first two editions while India had won the latest edition.
