Nepal Squad Finalized For T20 World Cup Qualifiers

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal have announced their final squad for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifiers. Nepal named their 15-man squad for the qualifiers kicking off on Monday.

Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has made his place in the squad after sitting out the recently concluded Tri-Series due to personal reasons. Nepal have not made any other additions but have cut down the 18-man squad in the Tri-Series.

Surya Tamang, Lokesh Bam, Sagar Dhakal and Shyam Dhakal from the Tri-Series squad have been left out for the Qualifiers.

The ICC T20 World Cup Asia Zone Qualifiers will be held from October 13th to 20th at Mulpani and TU Cricket Grounds. Nepal are in Group A alongside Malaysia, Oman and Singapore while the UAE and Hong Kong make up Group B alongside Bahrain and Kuwait.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semifinals, with the two finalists qualifying for the ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA next year. Nepal are taken as the contenders for the title.
