Kathmandu – The Nepal National U-16 Cricket Team has secured a spot in the final of the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup, where they will face the home side, Malaysia.
Nepal secured their place in the final after a 97 runs victory over Singapore. Meanwhile, Malaysia earned its spot by defeating Hong Kong by 78 runs.
Nepal’s journey to the semifinals included impressive victories against Thailand and Malaysia by 225 and 84 runs, respectively. Similarly, Malaysia outplayed Thailand, securing a spot in the semifinals with a 118-run victory.
In the semifinals, Hong Kong was bowled out for just 77 runs in 19.3 overs while chasing a target of 156 runs set by Malaysia. Likewise, in the first semifinal, Nepal showcased a strong bowling performance, dismissing Singapore for a mere 87 runs in pursuit of Nepal’s winning target of 185 runs.
The stage is now set for an exciting final showdown between Nepal and Malaysia, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
