Nepal Lose Second Friendly Against Russia In Straight Sets

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal have suffered a second successive defeat in the Women’s Volleyball Friendship Series against Russia. Nepal, who went down in straight sets in the first encounter, suffered the same fate in the second as well.

The first set played at the Dasharath Stadium Covered Hall was rather straightforward. Russia won the opening set 25-14. However, Nepal put up a great fight in the second and third sets.

Nepal lost the second set 25-24. The final point of the set went to Russia courtesy of a service error from Usha Bhandari. The third set finished 25-22.

The two-match series is being held with the aid of the Russian Embassy in Nepal.

Nepal, alongside India, Iran, Sri Lanka and Maldives will contest in the CAVA Women’s Nations League that will run from August 1-7 in Tripureshwor.
