Nepal National Women’s Team Skipper Anjila Tumbapo Subba and Defender Gita Rana sign for Indian Women’s League (IWL) side Sethu FC for the season 2022/23.
Anjila and Gita become the third and fourth Nepali players to sign for Sethu FC. Earlier in the 2018/19 season, Nepali International Sabitra Bhandari and Anita Basnet played for Sethu FC and their performance guided Sethu to the title of IWL for the first time.
The duo along with Anita KC and Suru Limbu flew to Pakistan a couple of years ago to play in Pakistan Women’s league featuring Masha United. The league got called off in between as FIFA implemented a ban on the Pakistan Football Federation due to which footballing activities in Pakistan got a full stop. The title favorites then ended the league empty-handed.
