Kathmandu – Today is the National Volleyball Day of Nepal. This day is marked as the day the Government of Nepal declared volleyball as the national sports of Nepal.
Although Nepal Volleyball Association did not announce any formal programme to mark this day, Jawlakhel Volleyball Training Centre organized friendly games and various programmes to observe the National Volleyball Day.
Likewise, New Diamond Sports Club also organized a friendly match against NVA League Champions Tribhuvan Army Club at its court to mark this day, coach Kumar Rai informed.
The Council of Ministers headed by the then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had declared volleyball as the national game of Nepal on May 22, 2017 at the initiative of the then Sports Minister Daljit Shreepali.
