Scott McTominay’s early headed goal capped a great individual effort that took Manchester United through to the fourth round of the FA Cup. They defeated Watford on Saturday at Old Trafford 1-0.

McTominay connected with an Alex Telles corner and while his downward header lacked strength, it bounced up and into the top corner. United looked a little disorganized after making nine changes from the team that lost the League Cup semifinal to Manchester City in midweek.
Meanwhile, Watford, who were relegated last season from the Premier League, produced plenty of chances but could not score. Instead, with a selfless showing of running and tackling, it was 24-year-old Scottish midfielder McTominay who won it for the Red Devils.
McTominay was captaining the United side for the first time and led the way to ensure that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side made it through to the fourth-round draw on Monday.
