Kathmandu – The national football team of Mauritius is arriving in Kathmandu on Monday to play two football friendlies against Nepal.

According to the General Secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Indraman Tuladhar, the Mauritius team will land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 11:15 am on January 24. Nepal and Mauritius will play friendly matches at the Dasharath Stadium on coming Saturday (January 29) and next Tuesday (February 1).

The national team of Nepal is currently busy preparing for the friendly matches. Coach Abdullah Al Mutairi has been training the national team at ANFA Complex, Satdobato. The coach is likely to announce the final squad within a few days.

ANFA General Secretary Tuladhar said that it is yet to be decided whether the matches will be played with spectators or without spectators.

“We are currently discussing the possibility of allowing viewers at one-third capacity of the stadium. However, a decision on whether to allow viewers or not will be taken after consultation with the district administration office. A decision in this regard will be taken within a few days,” said Tuladhar.

The national football team of Nepal hasn’t played any international matches since the SAFF Championship held in the Maldives four months ago. Nepal had played two friendly matches against India on the home ground ahead of the SAFF Championship. One of them ended in a draw while Nepal lost another match.
