Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes all scored to defeat Liverpool 3-1 on Saturday.
Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s only goal. The best chances came for both teams but couldn’t capitalize on it. Vardy and Firmino both had good chances to give their side the lead but were unfortunate.
Just before the hour mark, Alexander-Arnold hit the crossbar. But in the 67th minute, Salah broke the deadlock. The Leicester defense had blocked Alexander-shot. The Leicester defense had blocked Alexander-shot. But it only ricocheted as far as Firmino, who tapped the ball back to Salah without looking to see if he was there. He then slotted the ball past Kasper Schmeichel calmly.
On 77 minutes, Leicester had a double VAR analysis, which saw them lose a penalty but score the free-kick that resulted. Harvey Barnes was brought down by Thiago on the edge of the box and referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty. But it was reversed to a free-kick, and Maddison curled it into the corner of Alisson’s net.
Moments later, Alisson charged out of his goal and missed the ball. Vardy scored Leicester’s second, leaving an empty net for the Leicester striker to score. With a creative run down the left and into the box, Barnes guided the ball past Alisson.
