Lampard sacked by Chelsea with Tuchel lined up as replacementthe

Chelsea Football Club has sacked manager Frank Lampard less than 24 hours after the club’s FA Cup victory over Luton Town.

“This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an outstanding personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him,” Abramovich said. “He is a man of immense honesty with the highest ethic of work. Nevertheless, under current conditions, we agree it is better to change managers.”

On Monday morning, Lampard was informed of his fate. It it is now predicted that Chelsea will name Tuchel as his full-time successor. Lampard remained optimistic that recent performances and results could be turned around. He was even heartened by the FA Cup win over Luton Town on Sunday. But Abramovich was worried that a top-four was fading from view. He claimed that Chelsea was no closer to Manchester City and Liverpool, which at the beginning of the season had been the target.

Former PSG boos Tuchel has been heavily linked with Chelsea all afternoon. The arrival of Tuchel is partly aimed at trying to get the best out of two of Chelsea’s main summer signings, his German compatriots Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Chelsea believe that a boost is required for the entire squad. Chelsea was warned of him during the reign of Antonio Conte due to his fall-outs with his former employers.

Tuchel’s appointment will also be seen as something of a possibility. Which members of Lampard’s backroom staff will leave with him is still to be reported by Chelsea, but assistant Jody Morris is expected to accompany him out of the exit door.
