Kathmandu – The former Member Secretary of the Nepal Sports Council (NSC) Yuvraj Lama, has been elected as the President of the Nepal Karate Federation unopposed.
The election took place during the Federation’s convention in Chitwan on Saturday, where a 20-member central working committee was also elected unopposed alongside Lama.
Harisharan KC has been elected as the senior vice-president of the Federation, while Prakashmohan Dhaubhadel, Devkumar Lama, Mahendra Bahadur Singh, Omkrishna Prasain, Majindra Singh, and Shyam Sherpa are the six vice-presidents.
Dawa Gurung, who was the then president of the federation, has been given the responsibility of the General Secretary. Dhwajaman Moktan and Balram Mitra have been elected as Secretaries and Kishore Prasad Bhattarai as Treasurer. Likewise, Ram Bahadur Singh Thakuri, Sanjaysunder Sainju, Ravi Maharjan, Hikmat Thapalia, Tara Prasad Oli, Yadav Kafle, Rajendra Baral, and Sasikumar Titung were elected as members.
The first meeting of the Federation held on Sunday has nominated 2 members and 5 advisors. Kamala Rana and Sanjay Kumar Rai were nominated as members while Dipesh Shakya, Bishnu Karki, Niwash Gopal Vaidya, Hari Bista, and Ganesh Karki have been selected as advisers.
