KP Oli Cup’s Second Edition In Falgun

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – KP Oli Cup’s second edition is set to be held in Falgun this year. The organizers, National Youth Association Nepal, announced that the tournament’s second edition will be held from Falgun 11 to 20 (February 23 to March 3, 2023).

Niraj Paudel, the spokesperson for the Youth Association, announced that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has granted the necessary approval for the second edition of the KP Oli Cup and to be organized by the National Youth Association and has provided the window for the tournament.

ANFA’s stipulation requires participating teams and clubs to be officially affiliated with ANFA and District Football Associations. As outlined by the organizers, the tournament matches are scheduled to take place at the Chyasal Stadium, with the final set to be held at the Dasharath Stadium. ANFA Complex hosted the tournament last time around baring the final.

The organizers also informed that there will be an open call for participation, with subsequent selection of participating teams. Participants in the competition will include Nepal’s A Division teams and prestigious foreign teams. The winning team in the competition stands to receive eleven lakh rupees, while the runners-up will be awarded five lakhs.

According to spokesperson Paudel, individual awards include one lakh rupees for the best player of the tournament and fifty thousand rupees each for the best goalkeeper, top scorer, and emerging player. In addition, the player of the match in each game will be rewarded with fifteen thousand rupees.

Machhindra FC are the defending champions of the tournament. They defeated Satdobato Youth Club on penalties in the final to win the title last time out.
