Maziya Sports and Recreation Club, where Nepal National Goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong plays, has clinched the title of Maldives top tier league Dhivehi Premier League with two games in hand.
Maziya defeated Da Grande 1-0 on Friday which secured their league title. Tana Dominguez’s only goal guided Maziya to the victory.
With this victory, Maziya has bagged 54 points from 19 games. Club Eagles, who stands second in the competition points table, managed to collect 46 points so far.
Mazia won the title for the third time in a row. Overall, this is Mazia’s fourth league title. Mazia won the league title for the first time in 2016.
Meanwhile, it is Chemjong’s second league title. Earlier, he had won the Dhivehi Premier League from TC Sports in 2018. At that time, Chemjong was also awarded with the best goalkeeper.
