José Mourinho hits out at Fulham

José Mourinho claims that if Fulham field a full-strength side in Wednesday’s rearranged match at Tottenham, Fulham will owe the rest of the Premier League an apology.

Spurs manager was upset by what he considers to have been a reluctance to play the game at short notice on Fulham’s part. He indicated that the only explanation for them not to do so as if they had problems with choices, but he didn’t think they had any. Mourinho complained that he had been informed of the postponement of the initial Fulham game just a few hours before kick-off.

And they had more than 48 hours to prepare for this one.
Meanwhile, Fulham manager, Scott Parker, said the league told him and his club at 9:30 a.m. on Monday that they would have to finish the fixture. It was postponed on December 30 following a Fulham Covid outbreak. “The notice time was described by Parker as “scandalous”.

Mourinho has no sympathy for Fulham, and he has railed against “selfish” agendas that he fears could stand in the way of completing the season. Tomorrow we should wait to see the Fulham squad [and] the players not interested,” said Mourinho. He added “We can all feel sad for them after that, or we can all believe that they’re not allowed to talk. My impression here is that the best Fulham side could be starting.

So, if we see the better Fulham, you know that a lot of stuff doesn’t make sense”. “We played 11 more matches than Fulham since the beginning of the season. They played Saturday against QPR. In London. They have Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to prepare. If they come with half of the team, I will be the first one to apologize to them. And I will be the first one to say we played this game with an advantage.

If they come with their best, I think they should apologize to all of us. Come on, let’s play football. Let’s behave the best we can. Let’s protect our industry.”
