Janakpur Bolts sign Jimmy Neesham for NPL

New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham will play for the Janakpur Bolts in the first Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Janakpur announced that Neesham, an exciting all-rounder, has been signed as their first foreign player for the inaugural season of the league. Neesham, who is 34 years old, has played 79 T20 matches for New Zealand, scoring 944 runs and taking 39 wickets.

Asif Sheikh, a wicketkeeper-batsman from the Nepali national team, is the marquee player for Janakpur, which is to be coached by Pubudu Dasanayake.

The NPL, organized by the Nepal Cricket Association, will run from November 30 to December 21, featuring 8 teams. Each team can sign maximum of 6 foreign players with 4 players to be included in Playing XI.

Janakpur Bolts and other teams selected 10 Nepali players in an auction held on October 20. The Janakpur Bolts team includes:

Asif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Shah, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Rupesh Singh, Arniko Yadav, Shubh Kashankar, Tul Bahadur Thapa, Kishore Mahato, Sher Malla, Hemant Dhami, Akash Tripathi, and Jimmy Neesham.
