Harrison and Bamford give Leeds all 3 points

Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford scored in either half of the game to give Leeds a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. It was the first win for Leeds this year and they now are in the top half of the table.

Crystal Palace missed Wilfred Zaha as they didn’t look sharp all 90 minutes. Eberechi Eze tried to test Leeds goalkeeper but wasn’t able to put past him. However, Leeds were too quick to respond and scored just after 150 seconds. Shot from Harrison took a little deflection off Gary Cahill and looped high into the net. Guaita saved a header from Bamford which came to him from an Alioski cross.

Bamford missed another chance in the 22nd minute when he left Gary Cahill behind from the halfway line. But he shot the ball off the target. It was now Palace’s time to threaten as Eze’s brilliance kept their heart in their mouth. Jordan Ayew tried his luck too but couldn’t level. Pascal Struijk headed a shot over the bar.

In the 52nd minute, Leeds doubled their lead through Bamford. Raphina’s shot was saved by Guaita but it went to Bamford to turn it home from 8 yards out. Eze could have brought Palace back to the game but his shot again was over the bar.

Bamford’s goal was his 100 goals for all clubs. Leeds are in 10th position and have played 22 games. Meanwhile, Crystal palace are 13th with 29 points in 23 played.
