First Women’s Open Golf Championship on Saturday

Kathmandu – Arshiya Group is all set to organize the First Women’s Open Golf Tournament this Saturday in coordination with the Royal Nepal Golf Club.

The organisers during a press conference in the capital on Thursday confirmed that the one-day tournament will be held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.

During the event, Arshiya Group will be represented by Arshiya Banu, Pratima Sherpa and Sareeta Shri Gyawali.

The tournament will feature more than 50 players, said Nepal’s number one woman golfer Pratima Sherpa on behalf of the organisers. According to her, golfers from Pokhara, Dharan and Kathmandu will compete in the event.

The event will be divided into senior and junior categories. The senior players will play 18 holes while the junior ones will play nine holes. The players in 8 to 16 years age group fall under the junior category.

Winner of the senior category will be awarded a trophy and a scooter. According to the organisers, President Bidya Devi Bhandari will hand over the prizes to the winners.

The organisers informed that this event is being organised to develop women golfers and to attract women into this game.
