Kathmandu – FIFA assistant referee Bikram Chaudhary has passed away. Chaudhary breathed his last during regular training at Army Headquarters on Friday morning due to a heart attack.
He was given CPR by the medical team of the Army after he fell on the field during training. He was rushed to the Army Hospital in Chhauni, where he was declared dead upon arrival by the doctors, according to sources at the Tribhuwan Army Club.
His body is currently kept in the hospital in Chhauni. A decision regarding his last rites will be taken in the presence of his family members.
Hailing from Sarlahi, Chaudhary was working as a FIFA assistant referee for the last three years. Chaudhary was also serving as a constable in the Nepal Army and had been refereeing for the last two decades. He completed ANFA Referee Course in 2063 BS and National Referee Course in 2066 BS.
Chaudhary has officiated in the A Division League since 2066 and has been a FIFA assistant referee since 2021. Chaudhary, who is considered to be the best among the assistant referees in Nepal, also officiated in international competitions.
